Why One of Rolex's Most Famous Watches Continues to Captivate Collectors

The additional hand and rotating bezel allowed pilots to keep track of home time while traveling across the world. The now-famous red and blue bezel served a purpose as well; separate daytime and nighttime hours, making the watch easier to read at a glance.

What started as a practical tool eventually became one of the most iconic sports watches ever made. It has  become highly collectible and not easy to obtain as collectors' names sat on a wait list hoping to be called.
